Practical information

Transport
Free bus transport to and from the Manglerud Sports Centre will be provided for all participants. The buses will leave from Dronning Mauds gate 11 (Wikborg Rein) at 12:00 sharp and we kindly ask everyone to be there on time.

The tournament at the Manglerud Sport Centre
Manglerud Sports Centre has an indoor football field with artificial turf ("kunstgress"). The field will be divided into four pitches, one for each group (see the "Tables" page to the left for information on which group you are in).

The matches will be played out by teams of one goalkeeper and four fielders (five-a-side) and will be subject to the same rules as conventional seven-a-side football (except no corners, and kick-ins replacing throw-ins).

We recommend, but will not require, players to wear protective gear.

Kick off for the group matches will be at 13:00, and we kindly ask the teams playing the first matches to be ready by that time. In the matches, a win will be awarded three points and a tie will bring about one point to each team. A losing team will get zero points. Each group match will be 1 x 15 minutes (non-stop). There will be a 30 minute break between the last group match and the quarter-finals – when pizzas will be served, free of charge.

The two best teams in each group will go on to the quarter-finals, leaving a total of eight teams still in the fight. If necessary, the teams to proceed will be settled in the following order: goal difference/inter partes match/flip-a-coin. Each of the four matches in the quarter-finals will be 2 x 10 minutes and will be played out simultaneously on the four pitches available. Any draws will be resolved through penalty shootouts, and the winner of each match will head on to the semi-finals which will commence after a further 10 minute break.

Also the semi-finals will be played as 2 x 10 minutes matches, on pitches 1 and 2. Any draws will again be dealt with through penalty shootouts, resulting in the two strongest teams heading to the finals. Before the final take place, there will be a 10 minute break for the teams to have a breather and lay a strategy.

The final will be played at pitch 1. The final will be a 2 x 10 minutes match. The final is scheduled to finish approximately at 17:25. There will not be a bronze medal game.

In addition to the abovementioned pizzas, there will be a small kiosk open at the arena selling some light food and beverages during the tournament. The men's and women's locker rooms will be open at all times so that it is possible to take a shower and change into fresh clothes after the matches. We will also provide some bananas for the breaks and perhaps some beers as we approach the final...

The buses will return to Dronning Mauds gate 11 as soon as we are ready to leave; presumably sometime between 17:40 and 18:00.

The banquet at top floor of Wikborg Rein's offices
Not long after the buses have returned to Dronning Mauds gate 11, the banquet will begin at 19:00 with an aperitif on the 11th floor. It may therefore be a good idea to shower and groom at Manglerud Sports Centre where suitable facilities are available. There will be a wardrobe at Wikborg Rein where gym bags etc. may be stored.

Food will be served at 20:00. After food and drinks, there will be a grand awarding ceremony where both the best football team and the best cheerleading squad will be rewarded for their efforts.

Lastly, as the evening progresses, then the question is: Who will win the party?
